Dietitian - Healthy Bites Nutrition

Siân Visser is our Accredited Practising Dietitian. She is able to assist you with a wide range of nutrition issues, however her areas of interest are:

• Weight loss and weight management – most often using a non-diet approach
• Sports Nutrition
• Pre and post natal nutrition
• Paediatrics - fussy eating, constipation, allergy and intolerances, general nutrition
• Irritable bowel syndrome
• Healthy living - eating well, maintaining a healthy relationship with food, meal planning and balancing a busy lifestyle​ ​

As of early August 2018 Siân has taken leave of absence to live in Tasmania, however we are currently exploring teleconferencing options.

Referral

You don't need a referral to make an appointment with the dietitian. However, if your GP or specialist has recommended a visit to a dietitian, a referral from your medical practitioner will provide the dietitian with important information.

Rebates

If your GP has provided you with an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) referral, you will be able to claim a rebate of $52.95 from Medicare for your appointment with the dietitian. This is not a bulk billing practice. You will need to pay for your consultation in full and then claim your rebate from Medicare, which can be claimed on the spot. I am registered with all major health funds. Rebates differ between funds and your level of coverage so please contact your fund for further information.

Department of Veterans Affairs

Healthy Bites Nutrition is a registered provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). If you have a Gold Card, you will not have to pay for your consultation. You will require a referral and documentation from your GP at the time of consultation.

Cancellation Policy

By becoming a client of Healthy Bites Nutrition you agree to provide 24 hours notice for all cancellations. Full fee may be charged for missed appointments or appointments cancelled with inadequate notice. The cancellation fee exists to enable other clients to be seen in a timely manner. In some circumstances short notice may be unavoidable and discretion may be given.
